Banning Science and Technology Center, Inc Received 501(c)(3) Status

On 14 June 2012 the Banning Science and Technology Center, Inc. received its nonprofit determination letter as a public charity under IRS regulation 501(c)(3). This designation allows donors to have the highest level of deductibility on their contributions.

The company is now in a fundraising mode. The goal is to initially raise $350,000 to get to the building stage of its 50,000 square foot interactive science center.

The company will also need to raise $6.5 million dollars for the building and another $2 million for the exhibits it will house. Many of the larger exhibits will have corporate sponsors.

The Banning Science and Technology Center, Inc is a learning center using interactive exhibits and laboratories where attendees and members can experience those areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in which they may be or become interested. The laboratories will be
open to students who would like to build their science projects under the tutelage of teachers, staff and volunteers.

The nonprofit center will provide education in the STEM disciplines to the over 3 million people in its service area who are not now served.

The company has a large Advisory Panel whose members include individuals from academia, education and corporations.
