Online Auctions Site Calls on eBay Sellers to Share Their Stories
Orange County, Calif., September 8, 2010 - To offer the ultimate online auctions and free classified ads site, Main Street Fair is asking eBay sellers to tell their tales on Main Street Fair's blog. Those who want to participate should send their stories and any diagrams, screen shots, photos or charts to media@mainstreetfair.com.
Main Street Fair is reaching out to eBay sellers for new ways to make this the perfect online auctions and free classified ads platform. In offering eBay sellers the opportunity to talk about their experiences, the Main Street Fair management team hopes to gain insight as to what sellers need, what works and what doesn't.
"If we know what sellers really need, we can make Main Street Fair the most efficient and successful e-commerce site for them to use," said Main Street Fair CEO, Lisa Porter.
Main Street Fair is gaining popularity in the online auctions world as an eBay alternative because it strives sellers in ways that extend beyond a mere "thank you."
The website offers a two-way rating system and bulk uploading program to allow sellers to upload thousands of items from an Excel csv file. Listings may go into two categories—a storefront and the main site categories. Main Street Fair also writes blogs about sellers' products.
To help sellers in other ways, Main Street Fair also offers special programs. Its "Press for Press" gives authors the opportunity to get free marketing. It has hired Porter Public Relations to write a monthly Internet press release about one of the books listed on its site. Authors also are invited to write a blog, for posting on the site with links to the page where the book is listed.
"Our goal is to help online auction sellers sell and shoppers have an easy, enjoyable and profitable experience," said Porter. "For those looking for an alternative to eBay, we want it to be Main Street Fair. We vow to continue working diligently to gain the respect and support of online sellers by giving them what they need to make money and keep their profits. The people that buy and sell know best."
